All that Malarkey

All that Malarkey

all that, ‘malarkey’
left me
left me mad
beat me around the face
and then left me sad
i could not return
to those ways
those days
leave me slightly embarrassed
but then, very few people
ever test their rough edges
the effort and even the energy
why,
it is all much the same
people drink coffee or tea
and chew on their blame
everyone promises the world
but none of us really can
all the, ‘malarkey’
feels like a distant land
