Hard Work – Saturday 19th October 1996

Hard Work

got so much hard work
always hard work during the week
my weekends are too fast, too quick
i get home too late
feel like i have been in space
cannot even get the lines from my face
got so much hard work
i do it to improve myself
i do it for money and no one else
i crash in the nights
and wake before the lights are bright
that glowing warmth is gone
it is cold and my hands are numb
got to do so much hard work
i am part of a tired bunch
but it beats doing none at all
i could not take that again,
everything felt wrong
i do not criticise those,
who are put down and put upon
in society they are the problem
that most wish would be gone
but as i work hard
i know it is all our responsibility
i feel lucky for where i am
got so much hard work
but i do as much as i can
