Deathbed – Written Saturday 27th October 2001 (Aged 26)

Deathbed

i have glimpsed death
it is not a terror
it is not a test
it is a warm hand
reaching out to a deathbed
i am not afraid of death anymore
i have seen the warm homely fire
that burns brightly beyond the door
it is not about lower or higher
the mind is infinite floors
i have glimpsed death
felt its arms around me
it is not like there is nothing left
or the final sound
i have been on the deathbed
it is not a ghastly act
it is the passing order
i have glimpsed death
it is the final act of being free
and it does not scare me
