Apple With Strange Core (Originally Untitled) – Written Tuesday 30th June 2009 (Aged 34)

Apple With Strange Core

you log fires have left me cold
your attachment to detachment
makes me feel old
your sunken ship
that you raise from the sea bed
starts to slip
and leaves me strange in the head
your darkness
in a lighted smile
moves kingdoms to my plane
but it only lasts a while
you twist and turn
between the frightened forests
as they start to burn
your lighthouse
without the light
your verbal punch ups
the way they grip tight
your tangled strings
on your bare knuckle kite
it is an apple with a strange core
one that i no longer want to bite
