Lie – Written Sunday 3rd December 2000 (Aged 25)

Lie

you lied to me
you took away the truth
whoever said –
it was yours to keep
you made things up
you altered what is fact
the land of make believe is dangerous
become sometimes there is no coming back
sometimes things get in the way
it is not what you said,
more what you did not say
that is what gave you away
you claims were lofty, just like a skyscraper
but one that always had an uneasy sway
you lied to me
inflicted your make believe,
if you took the truth from me,
then what did you actually leave?
