Lucky Escape (Originally Untitled) – Written November 2000 (Aged 25)

Lucky Escape

all that baggage from the last one,
it is not you… it is me…
i do not want commitment right now…
i thought right now means for a while
so i was surprised to see her the next week
with someone else, flashing that smile
the one that you had flashed at me
all the baggage from the last one,
and that man you had an affair with
well everyone knows you have been seeing him
i do not think he is so keen anymore
he know you are like a free taxi
you to allot of places,
and you offer a allot of free rides…
all the baggage from the last one
when i first met you,
and you told me about your ex partners
i felt so lucky,
i thought they had been dealt a cruel blow by fate
now i have gotten to know you,
i realise and i know that they had a lucky escape
