No Expectations

drugs and alcohol
i have seen you abuse them all
people and soul
i have seen you take them all
drugs and feelings
i have seen you mix them all
speed and vodka
i have seen you courting them all
trying to escape
but they just dangle the keys
and never show you the way
an artist who only knows one pattern
seems slightly strange
and to watch you follow that
all over again
you know it will just mean pain
but low expectations
means things will always be the same
drugs and mor drugs
i have seen you abuse them all
me and you almost so close
i have seen you choose them all
i have seen you abuse them all
