Watch and Charm Bracelet
how am i?
ankle deep in spanish probate law
sat here,
with dad’s watch,
i can add it to mum’s charm bracelet
which i keep in a bottom drawer
two things,
i will hold onto forever more
little moments –
where tears escape
even though,
i do not always know why
maybe it is for all those years –
that have flown or swum by
we keep momentos as reminders
keepsakes for those years yet to come
and my, how these objects,
can leave us so undone
