Roads are Bare
roads are bare
anxiety and tension
fills the air like clouds
roads are empty
people are scared
the suppleness of our thoughts
how did we end up here
i walk through my dreams
my sleep pattern
is not a pattern i have seen
roads are bare
i drive home from work
i look around,
there is a strange feeling
and it is not leaving
our chests may well be heaving
my internal world is seizing
roads are empty
we reach down into unknown spaces
could our hope become plenty
these days,
the like of which we have never seen
these days,
that have added fear to our dreams
