Dare Not Touch (Originally Untitled) – Written Sunday 18th June 2006 (Aged 31)

Dare Not Touch

it is sad to watch –
you play victim –
time and time again
you have a loving husband
beautiful children
a lovely house
yet still you continue –
to play victim
time and time again
is this just the sadness
the saddest thing of all
you have a diamond outside –
yet inside something quite small
of course you are not a victim
only in your mind
and only when,
self responsibility is hard to find
you would like to be –
one of life’s victims –
it avoids so much
those deeply buried things inside
the ones you dare not touch

James Garratt – Sunday 18th June 2006
