Gameplay
others play the game
effectively on the board
but they do look bored
and their wings look bust
as their halo springs a leak
and over time begins to rust
meanwhile…
i am hawking my smile
to each individual event
i know the waves crash upon my beach
and the seawall is bent
i am just one, just one greetings card away
from being well meant
others iron their clothes
with an effective ease
they cycle through their emotions
as they polish their knees
they play the game –
effectively on the board
but they look bored
and they bury their stash
so it becomes a latter day treasure hoard
they spend the money
on each and every holy lord
they look funny
when the storybook closes
each page carefully turned
this is mine, this is yours
play the game, you need to learn
to be effective on the the board
they play well but look so completely bored
