The Delicate Dream – Written Monday 28th June 1999 (Aged 24)

The Delicate Dream

there is a delicate dream
as fragile as an antique vase
as fragile as your pride
as fragile as your belief in your class
there is an old wooden chair rocking
there is a light shining on
but sometimes people are not stopping
with a dream in your midsts
success and failure are always knocking
there is a delicate dream
there is a child i know so well
one who has this permanent silent scream
there is a delicate dream
and it must be held so close
it is worth more than anything
and it is what you value the most

James Garratt – Monday 28th June 1999
