Bankrupt (Originally Untitled) – Written November 2016 (Aged 41)

the economic system has bankrupted you
in every possible way
aspiration easily docks as compassion sails away
you can rage at the political class
but down in the theatres
the corporations star in a wealthy farce
we have been had, sold and tagged,
robbed and mugged, and then finally, blagged
the economic system took you apart
neoliberalism chewed up your vital signs –
then they stole your heart
trumpism is not a revolution,
it is more of the same
the corporate class –
have just bought the ultimate house
you may have not liked your politicians
but the very people who screwed you
well, your vote has realised their ultimate ambition
