(Hiding the Truth) When They Grow Up
this is life
and that is what you do
desperately hoping
the children will hide the truth
living for them
because there is nothing else –
worth living for
smother them so they do not grow
hoping they will always be there
and never ever go
claim that children have changed you
you shout this gospel
from the rooftops
the only change is,
that children are a way to hide the truth
sparing you
from your true nature
deep down you know the truth
that will not be enough and you fear the day –
that they will grow up
