You Seek to Punish Me
you seek to punish me
for not loving you
for rejecting you
for not giving,
what life has never given
for not responding
to your open heart
you seek to punish me
tearing me apart
the anger knows no bounds
the empty walls of your cell
echo to painful sounds
you seek to punish me
and i will be forever damned
if only compassion had not died
and you could understand
you seek to punish me
but the punishment does not fit
and there was no crime
you yearn for greater revenge
it eats away at your mind
you seek to punish me
it will destroy you over time
