Female Sadness
the many colours and facets
of female sadness
where men turn to anger
and often hate
there is an emotional burden
carried by women which always fascinates
i first saw it
with my own mother
and as the years go by
i have watched female sadness
and how,
often it goes unrecognised
i see it in their faces
and the personal places deep inside
i have both carried and ignored
i have touched and adored
i have helped but being deeply flawed
by female sadness
and it has bewitched me
all these years
for women are expected to carry sadness
and there is much weight to female tears
