Cultivation
a gift was waiting
to grow and do well
it needed cultivating
looked after for someone’s salvation
after all these years of cultivation
i had to realise
that everything we have can improve
it does not mean always,
that you will lose
just cultivating what i have got
till it is ready to be used
i have got to be careful
so it does not get used
and destroyed till it is no more
i have told myself i have to wait
because if it is mediocre,
then i know it will not be so great
all i have got to do is a little cultivation
to grow my gift
then i will have something better
much better than all this
