I like Coming Home to You
i like coming home to you
remember,
when mum passed away
how much comfort
i found in your stay
i like coming home to you
i know,
it is not always fireworks
but there is a sparkler,
always alight
i just wish you would see yourself
as i and others do
but those pesky parents
put an oil smear on your view
i like coming home to you
this world is madness
in every extreme
it is like the surrealistics’ –
most extreme dream
you rebel,
you hurt,
you fight,
but you are my love
which corresponds with daylight
lows, replaced by new heights
bare bulbs, to a shining light
i like coming home to you
