You Are Not Here to See Us
you are not here to see us
your chair was empty
but my heart is still full of you
plenty of,
time has come and gone
and i think now of my age
and where you were at my age
so much to say,
so much to tell you
words that are infinite
yet your time was so finite
and,
would they have made a difference
i just wanted,
i have always wanted and wished,
you had known her
and everything she is
perhaps,
a welcome gift
one more to add to the list
i think of you,
never far from my mind
my heart your memory easily finds
there is a blessing and a curse
to such protracted time
