The Truth Looks Thin – Written Tuesday 7th December 1999 (Aged 24)

The Truth Looks Thin

the truth looks thin
i got her
but she never found him
i found something to share
she undid the cap on my gin
and sat back in my chair
the truth looks thin
say yes,
no matter what they ask
because it seems to be the only way
the truth will never pass
not even the time of day
just that gin in a dirty flask
the truth looks thin
it looks like the grim reaper
it is a train on a strange journey
just crossing the sleepers
