Every False Idol Tells Me They Are Right – Written Wednesday 24th March 2021 (Aged 46)

Every False Idol Tells Me They Are Right

i care deeply
with a compassion and empathy
which runs deep
but the hill of resolved debate
has become too steep
and my time.
should not be left to weep

maybe i should share
maybe that hill
starts with just one step
but every false idol
tries to convince me that they are correct

narratives get twisted
and they they get turned
people define themselves
and tell us we must learn
or it becomes about suffering
and then, it must be somebody else’s turn

i am told
that eyes can burn bright
and every, ‘lost soul’
yearns for a guiding light
but bridges burn
in a world that has a crooked turn
and every false idol
tells me that they are right
