And it is So Cold
The children grew up
on Dennis the Menace
and swingball tennis—
and then,
to look alright,
they rode chopper bikes
and they liked
Duran Duran.
But then—
the space shuttle
blew up.
They cried,
even if they did not
understand.
We would have all loved
to have just one wish
and get out of the eighties
alive—
surprisingly
not so selfish.
Now the children
have grown up,
and now
they are getting old.
They discover
the real world—
and it is
so cold.
