Looking After You

Going to look after you—
do not worry now.
I am going to,
going to look after you
and make sure
you are well.
When things are this good,
it does not seem to matter
all the bad things
that happen.
I do not care much
for selfish people,
or people who spend
their money
on things
that are cruel.
All I care about
is you,
and I am going to
look after you.
There are so many lies
that can trip you up
in life—
but this is true.
I could tell you
about everything,
but there is just
me and you.
