Expectations
i have never lived up to expectations
that is why i have ended up –
in so many hurtful situations
i have never really come true
you can see the cracks
and you can see the glue
it s the way i am held together
there is a strain on the leash –
at the end of my tether
i have never lived up to expectations
expect nothing except a complicated sentence
with an exclamation mark at the end
that is why i seem confused
because i do not feel i ever really made it
the penny arcade always over used
i can promise a world
but i can never actually describe it
or say whether it is small or large
so you may imagine a paradise
yet i only ever mean the earth
i have never lived up to expectations
