Hung Up
i hung out my hang ups
i hung them out to dry
i tried to wait by a window
but they would not dry
i found some solace
in a bar where they serve the tears you cry
and the menu,
only has the lies you try
they serve the tears near
the finest years,
only just feel complete
i held a surprise party
for my faithful, but insubstantial past
a thousand memories turned up
but the night did not last
the warmth of the water
quickly turned cold
because wallowing in the past
just left me feeling prematurely old
