Contentment – Written Tuesday 7th September 2010 (Aged 35)

i always roll my eyes
and inwardly sigh
especially when they say,
at your age,
you, in your mid thirties
you should be settling down
i was not aware
that this is the way it should be
yet, i have settled down
content with my life and me
why do others –
enforce their beliefs on others
why do they think
you are plagued by –
some odious depression
i am always tickled by –
what others think –
you should be doing
and if i date just a little bit
does it matter who i am seeing
it is funny how in life
people attack and question –
your right to have individuality
the more i am expected to do
the less i actually do
i am content, so tell me, are you?
