They Want Me To Believe
the world,
sometimes it feels as if –
it is fully of people –
convinced by their own lies
as if delusion –
and confusion
are absolute fact
and then,
they pass it on
to me, to you, to others
the word cynic –
has taken on a bad name
but, does that make it –
any less truthful
people talk –
and sometimes they talk
with wild eyed expectation
an expectation that i should listen
but i have no need
they just want some validation
and for me to believe
