Don’t Ask Me – Written Saturday 14th June 1997 (Aged 22)

Don’t Ask Me

don’t ask me how i feel
i don’t know how i feel
i have never know how i’ve felt
it’s not fireworks
my legs do not start to melt
tell me how you feel
tell me how you have felt
is it like christmas day?
do you legs start to melt
are you sailing away
don’t ask me what to do
because i am lost too
so i am going back to an old friend
it’s a terrible thing to do
but i never could resist her hand
take refuge in the past
the false comfort and belief
that it is all okay and alright
that we understand
don’t ask me how i feel
don’t ask me what to do
not even you
can’t you tell me how you feel
i am waiting patiently
but don’t ask me
