Barely Grew – Written Wednesday 9th July 1997 (Aged 22)

Barely Grew

i was there in those times
when we barely had our minds
i still think and reflect,
when i hear certain songs
because the past still haunts me
the future still daunts me
will i ever truly see?
i was there in those times
with longer hair
a haunted house and all
as we climb the stairs
you say so much
but so little with your touch
you say i think too much
you say it is dangerous,
and that it will be my demise
but when i write it down
you are the first to love my lines
you want to see more
you want to see me go
and open my imaginative door
i was there in those times
when we barely had our minds
and we were just learning our lines
when we had barely grew
