Choose Our Passions Carefully

it’s the difficulty of accepting –
that,
it is the way it is
and what about me?
when will the world shift?
it is clear,
that for some people
that is an impasse
accepting the nature of this world
is about,
conceding –
that often you have no control
and there is no sense,
no, rhyme or even a reason
often things happen
and at best,
we have to find a way to accept
but in a philosophical fashion
why should you accept –
and what does it mean to accept?
do we choose our passions carefully?
inequality, hunger, poverty –
or, just me?
the world has a mind of its own
fate appears to do as it pleases
and society can leave us all alone
it is hard and it is difficult
learning to accept the unknown
