You Have To Learn People

you have to learn people
a shame,
you never learnt me
you never learnt my life
never listened,
to the things that distil my night
never learnt my company
the chains exist around me
and what sets me free
you to have to learn people
especially when you first meet them
take time to know them
you sit down and listen
to all the sadness
and the happiness that glistens
you take time
and walk with them slowly
enjoy every moment,
of the new found path
you wipe away tears
and learn to laugh
you have to learn people
that is all you to do
but for me, you couldn’t, could you?
