Adding Up – Written Wednesday 12th October 2005 (Aged 30)

Adding Up

there is something quite strange
about someone who cannot add
someone who does not add up
there is something quite strange
about someone partially sighted
about the conclusions they arrive at
and it is strange,
watching them adding up two and two
and arriving at five
convinced that they could not be wrong
there is something quite strange
who cannot add up
and who themselves,
does not add up
every sum just comes out wrong
and it does not matter what is said
