Crisis of Confidence

a crisis of confidence
am i just deluding myself
with dreams
cannot trust them
cannot live with them
cannot live without them
i lie awake at night
wondering if it’s real
it is just ego gone mad
or is something to feel
who am i trying to kid
should i just accept my lot
should i just take what i’ve got
and leave aspirations
to those that aspire
i contemplate their worth
i wonder if a imagination
is really just a curse
a crisis of confidence
believing in nothing
but always wanting something
