The Sparkle – Written Thursday 28th December 2006 (Aged 31)

The Sparkle

the sparkle
lost in a melee –
of failed parents
and bullying stepfathers
the passion
duped by a life
of, push, push, push
pretending to give
but only because
you are too scared to live
too scared to stand up –
on your own two feet
too busy grovelling –
too those you meet
the backbone
lost again
to bullying stepfathers
in the lather of putdowns
and children
with a more acceptable sound

James Garratt – Thursday 28th December 2006
