Each Day is Valuable

each day is valuable
another turn of the wheel
another rush of blood –
to this beating heart
just as everything i write –
dissects another part
or is that everything –
just tears me apart
each day has its reasons
and with its cloudbursts –
every moment has its seasons
each day is valuable
another place on my face
another thought left
just as everything i write
leaves me almost bereft
or is it that everything –
leaves me in such a mess
