One of a Crowd – Written October 2008 (Aged 33)

One of a Crowd

one of the crowd
one that never gets heard
a partnership
that just needs a verb
a personality
always following the herd
never wrong
yet somehow never right
no fires burning
a scream, yet no light
a love that is so high
and billboard wide
but the priest of perfection
has seen it die
and when there are no lights
they just turn to the side
administering the last rites
one of a crowd
with a voice not so clear
connect run wild
with high octane fear
what we are and what we feel
sometimes hides a painful leer

James Garratt – October 2008
