Blind Faith – Written Tuesday 28th November 2008 (Aged 33)

Blind Faith

i do not have the blind faith –
of younger days
and as i get older –
absolute conviction starts to fade
maybe it’s a symptom –
of my ever increasing age
gaps,
that i once leapt without question
routes i once took –
i was never concerned about direction
now i hesitate –
and display ready caution
in myself, i have never felt stronger
but where once –
i would say and not even think
i would rush headlong –
and never even blink
always wondering where i belonged
as i got too close to the brink
blind faith seemed to help me float
now it’s left, all i do is sink
