An Endless Collapse – Written December 2008 (Aged 33)

An Endless Collapse

i thank you for the honesty
but it’s just knifed me in the heart
i thank you for your words
but like a pack of wolves,
they’ve just torn me apart
i thank you for the time we had
but I know such absolute happiness
can only ever prelude feeling so very sad
i thank you for the time
when i felt i could truly belong
now i know what it means
it means it does not last too long
and now loneliness picks on me,
since you have gone
i thank you for the holding
for taking me all the way to here
now a gang haunts me,
they’re made up of loneliness and tears
and the ringleader holds me
with a stack of absolute fear
i thank you for the honesty
but i wish you’d just left it on the shelf
right now i am in an endless collapse
and what i feel, it feels so badly dealt
