People Are Mad

people are mad
the maddest of course,
never admit it
they construct lives
deploy a bulldog defence
judging others
sitting on fences
the maddest people –
tell you they are sane
that it is always others
and never them
but in their lives
you see the rot
and if you glimpse past the lies
the mouths constantly froths
people are mad
