Routes Never Taken
maybe in that other place
behind the door of choice
where the climate has a different feel
maybe there,
that place,
i would have acted differently
moved the hair,
which had fallen down your face
but that place
it does not exist
not in books, not in films,
or even fantasy novels
dreams,
are just a tinsel decorated hovel
maybe in that place,
the one so far away,
the one,
without bus or a train station
the one that dream tourists never miss
there,
i would have remained,
with the hair that fell down your face
but that place does not exist
and it is waste ground that has gone to waste
maybe someone,
puts their arms around her waist
