Innocence Ran Away – Written August 2011 (Aged 36)

Innocence Ran Away

innocence ran away
somewhere in my twenties
it snuck out one night
and never came back
i wonder,
how the years,
have passed by so quickly
moving all around me
the days,
they have come and gone
with their rapid speech
and an all in, distance beat
and when we look back
some are so hard to believe
and some days i wonder,
how did we ever breathe
later years,
come suddenly,
they have crawled into my bed
they move now,
and quickly fill up my aging head
