Always Listening
your life on a carousel
what does it do?
your life on a roller coaster
what does it mean to you?
shadows,
always shadows
with sunlit fingers
clutching an ice cream
i know i can match the batch of hope
and add moonlight to dreams
your life on a waterwheel
what does it do?
how does it make you feel?
i am caught in a state
one of too much awareness
and the idea that nothing can ever wait
i listen,
always listening
watching as words collapse in front of me
but trust me,
i am always listening
