Already Learning – Written Sunday 1st July 2001 (Aged 26)

Already Learning

i met them,
like people do,
said they missed me
had a hug,
from a girl,
still smiling
after being under the weather
i am glad she is feeling better
and gladder still,
that i never took it further
i sat there,
playing cards,
with the shadows on the wall
whilst they drunk
i felt small,
and there ocean is where i sink
i left them,
like people,
already half way
to something exciting and new
