The Last Laugh – Written Monday 13th August 2001 (Aged 26)

The Last Laugh

who is going to have the last laugh
us or the pigeons?
us or the seagulls?
losers lose out
but they seem to have each other
self pity is fine
wear it well,
but i feel like a loser
but then,
it does not feel so bad
i am fine inside
and i do not feel that sad
who is going to have the las laugh
i do see the joke
i see the punchline
but it hurts somewhere deep inside
nonetheless I continue to laugh
with a metaphorical black eye
i feel like a loser
but a loser that is happy on the inside
