Emotional Commitment
you stripped me
you left me bare
under the guise
that you care
but when i need you
i cannot find you there
instead i find nothing
note a morsel to share
you claim to love
but in the heat of battle
i cannot find your touch
you just crumble
and it is all too much
when it’s one to one
you never ever give out
emotions are given
using a scattergun
because up close and personal
tells us who we are
words of comfort
can take you far
i have mopped up your tears
held you a plenty
but when i need you near
i find the vessel is empty
