Expressing Needs
people seem shocked –
when you say you are hurt
you accept their pain
their tears,
their tantrums,
and their drama arrangements
but when you get upset
as if you are taking a turn
suddenly you change position
how dare you –
express your own needs
reveal the wounds
show them you bleed
that its not in the rules
that is not how is was mapped
its as if,
you have turned your back
give and take –
has always been give, give, give
but i do need people
after all, that is how we live
