Saying Goodbye To The Circus
i have let the circus come into my life
they, did at least, for a while entertain me
and make me smile
but now, i have asked them to leave
well, it has been a while
they, took more than they gave
and then the acrobats keep falling
there are only so many you can save
and clowns, well, they are never funny
and inside, they are always down
so i have to say goodbye to this circus
the one with a made up tear under its eye
all the acts, they were never truly there for me
that is a fact, so it is time to say goodbye
and bid farewell to this circus,
the one that i foolishly let come into my life
