I Don’t Remember You – Written October 1997 (Aged 22)

I Don’t Remember You

i don’t remember you
you are talking to me but I just don’t remember
this wouldn’t be so bad,
if this was the first time it had happened
but lately,
it seems to be happening all the time
i know the voice,
but i need a place
so i can fit in your unfamiliar face
you are talking to me and memories are occupied
i am just waiting for you to say,
you don’t remember me do you?
i hope you will will say,
that’s okay, i really do
i hope you will you say that you don’t remember me
but i do remember you
it wasn’t always like this,
i used to be able to remember
almost, just about everyone
now, as they meet me a little while later
it looks like they could be anyone
i don’t remember you
well i do, but its stuck at the back of my mind
our times together could have been strange
i don’t remember but if you remember me
tell me, have i really changed?
