It’s Only You That Does Not Like Me
it’s only you that does not like me
you speak for a crowd
but there are no crowds nearby
you speak for my friends
but they left with a heavy sigh
you say we,
when in fact you mean i
you take half truths
and promote them to a lie
you speak for others
people you have never actually met
you claim to be a voice of reason
yet reason long ago left
insecurity leads you down a path
you look in others for you own self esteem
the devil that left had had the last laugh
you cannot manage the mountain of hurt
it’s only you that does not like me
that is the basic fact
unlike you i have learned to set sail
so i can live with that
