Crocodile Tears
I go unnoticed,
so my ego
sits in a corner
and counts all of its crocodile tears;
knowing
they only serve to lubricate my fears;
and
my expression
does not appear to be a true connection;
maybe
that’s my life lesson.
I go unnoticed,
and people talk about others,
as my ego
stuffs its hands into its coat pockets;
others,
I watch them,
I watch them as they worship false prophets;
they do it with a surprising ease,
and I cling, I cling to my slippery meditation locket,
I know my ego, it pays every fee;
maybe
that’s the life lesson for me.

sadly profound James. Still evocative though.
